Earl Grey Tea

Fluff off Your SirShip, PM, Charles Grey. You had NOTHING to do with this!!!!

As a teenager, BFF and I house-sat for her aunt in St John’s Wood, London.

BEST TIMES. She brewed me Earl Grey Tea. Love at first taste.

To this day, that tea (and yes, I’m a peasant. I have it with milk. Not black with lemon) and the smell of bergamot take me way, way back.

Strangely enough. Mr S, from whom we bought our house here, was a Tea Merchant. We vibed in many ways :o)

  1. I just have to ask….you know I love Earl Grey too, but recently I found out about the French tea merchant, Mariage Freres. Do you know of them? There is a wonderful cookbook of their pastries in our library, and I tracked down a company in Dallas that sells their brand. Ridiculously expensive, but I have been slowly trying a few. And with the first sip of their Lavender Earl Grey, I thought of you Greta. I could picture you at their cafe in Paris in absolute heaven:-) I never thought of the French as being famous tea sellers, but this company is over 150 years old and combines the French love of scent with teas. It is like drinking perfume in a china cup!

Yes. I know you love Earl Grey tea & NO, I have never heard of Mariage Freres.
Lavender Earl Grey Tea ? Wow. I’ll see if I can track it down here.
P.S. I’ve kept everything that you ever sent me through the post. Even the card with Clary Sage Essential Oil on :o)
How is your part of the US weatherwise?
