Fine Dining Chez Moi : Hammy, Eggy, Cheesy!

This was my Mum’s Go-To recipe for tea when time/money were short.

I grew up with it and passed it on to my family. Even my ward, who lived with us for a year, loved it and – as a husband and father – has continued the tradition with his family.

Simple quick recipe.

Nice bread of choice – Lightly grill one side.

Meanwhile cook an egg or several. (Fry or poach.)

Grate cheese – We prefer Red Leicester but pick your own. Place on the ungrilled side of the bread and, eerm, grill it. Until cheese is lovely, bubbly.

Cheese on toast done. Egg done.

Place cheesey toast on a plate. Slap on a slice or more of ham. Top with egg(s)

Enjoy.
